Welcome to poop POP3 Server

poop is a small POP3 Server designed for home or small business use. It is very easy to use and was designed to run with V Mail Server (vms.sf.net), but not exclusively!

Working with V Mail Server?
V Mail Server is a small SMTP server than can accept incomming mail and then pass it onto poop so that users can pickup their email. Together these two small and easy to use packages can handle all your email.

Or if you want to use a different program for delivering email to poop, thats fine too!

How does it work?
1. Mail is injected into the system from somewhere like a SMTP server. poop comes with a program to inject mail
2. The mail sits on the server waiting for the user to pick it up
3. The user picks up their email through their POP3 compliant email program (nearly all programs support POP3)

How is the email stored on the server?
Email is stored on the server in individual directories for each user. poop does not link in with system account, so you do not need to have a user on the machine for every mailbox.
